A MAN who committed a “reckless assault” on a police officer has been jailed.
Michael Roy Stimson assaulted the officer in Portsmouth on April 7.
The court heard how the 39-year-old carried out a ‘reckless assault’ on a rescue worker while carrying out his duties as a police officer.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court, he pleaded guilty to assaulting a rescue worker by beating him.
Stimson, of Ladycross Road, Hythe, was jailed for a total of 12 weeks and ordered to pay £50 compensation.
