Ashford & District Road Running Club raised over £ 150 for Pilgrims Hospices through their chairman’s charity run.
The festive run took place on Sunday, giving members the option to run 4.5, 6 or 9.5 miles, with optional Christmas costumes.
Those who participated raised over £ 150 which alongside the club’s other Christmas fundraising efforts will be donated to the charity.
Pilgrims Hospices is a charity that provides free palliative care to the people of East Kent.
The association has three hospices in Canterbury, Ashford and Thanet.
Road runner Steve Hickman completed his 169th marathon at the SVN Viking Marathon in Thanet. He completed the 26.2 miles in a respectable time of four hours, 49 minutes and 26 seconds.
Gill O’Connor and Christine Costiff both led the South of England Athletic Association (SEAA) cross country event at Lloyd Park, Croydon.
A muddy, hilly four-mile course saw Costiff finish in 31:44 and O’Connor, despite losing his tips, finish the race in 34:24.
There were a number of personal bests and a season record for the club at Ashford parkrun on Saturday.
Nick Collins ran the 5 km in 16:12, finishing first Vet 40, second overall and thus earned a new PB. Scott Lynch finished ninth overall with a season best time of 18:57.
Just behind in 11th was Paul Moses in 19:35. Paul Crisp in his very first parkrun finished 13e at 19:49.
Alex Francis finished 15th, dipping just a second below the 20-minute mark for a new PB. Trevor Kay, hitting 8:00 p.m. dead, paced Francis around the course for two laps.
Cris Francis ran the Folkestone parkrun in 20:22, finishing 18e. Alison Waters recorded a PB in 21:25, finishing in 30th place overall.
Will Whittington was next for A&D in 26:47, a record time for the event in Folkestone, Kent, with Emma Jenkins in 37:04.
Simon Jackson completed the Maidstone Harriers Turkey Run in East Malling, Kent in party costume. Although the course is hilly and muddy, he finished the race in 1:15:15.
