A Hythe pub has banned those under 21 from visiting after 5 p.m.
The Bell Pub, located on Seabrook Road, said it made the decision following a number of antisocial incidents involving young adults.
They say it involved breaking COVID rules, behaving aggressively and swearing, and even urinating in the parking lot and breaking glass.
The ad says that while they regret having to “tarnish everyone with the same brush,” the policy will be kept under review and intended to be temporary.

Posting to Facebook this afternoon, The Bell Pub explained, “We are so sorry to hear that our new temporary policy has upset so many members of our community.
“We understand that we owe a lot of people an explanation.
“We have chosen to implement this policy due to the fact that some large groups of people of a certain age violate COVID regulations and completely ignore staff members when reminded of the rules, in addition, the same groups screamed and swore aggressively (disturbing our neighbors and causing interference from the police.), urinating in the parking lot, smashing a window in the parking lot and bringing their own alcohol.
“We like the fact that not all people under the age of 21 behave this way and we don’t want to smear everyone with the same brush.
“We regret that this affects some people who do not deserve it, but we have just implemented a short-term reactionary measure and we will constantly review it.
