BEMERTON Heath Harlequins shared a point after a six-goal thriller with Hythe & Dibden on Tuesday night.

Bemmy had the opportunity to regain top spot after beating Bournemouth Poppies 8-0 at the weekend thanks to a four-fold from Reece Rusher, a brace from Ronan Clancy and further efforts from Jamie Beasley and Kane O’Keefe.

Beasley and O’Keefe were back in goal on Tuesday night, while Danny Young was also on the Harlequins scoresheet.

The hosts had to fight back twice from a two-goal deficit, after Christos Papakonstantinou and Harrison Fray put the team 2-0 away in the first half.

Bemmy collected one before conceding a third early in the second half, Filippos Terzidis converting for Hythe.

The Harlequins rallied again, eventually restoring parity late to ensure the spoils were shared.

Laverstock & Ford bounced back from their defeat at Brockenhurst on Saturday with a 1-0 win at Alresford Town.

Jake Rawkins appeared with what turned out to be the 21st-minute winner, earning his side a second league win of the season.

Lavvy are now 17th in the Wessex Premier League table after nine games played, four points above Alresford who currently sit in the final relegation spot.

Bemerton would have topped the division with a win over Hythe but are now second behind league leaders AFC Portchester, who are one game short of Bemmy.

Both teams are in action this weekend, when Laverstock host Blackfield & Langley, while Bemerton travel to Fareham.
