Submitted to the Folkestone Herald
If you are between 16 and 19 years old, passionate about cinema and want a career in the film industry, the Kent BFI Film Academy is for you.
The British Film Institute (BFI), Screen South and Maidstone Studios have come together once again to offer a life-changing opportunity. They are looking for 20 young people who are passionate about cinema and have good ideas for short films.
The program offers the opportunity to develop practical skills and work with professional directors, screenwriters and producers, culminating in a red carpet screening of the films made.
All those who complete the course are part of the BFI Film Academy alumni network with access to BAFTA career interviews. They will also be able to apply for residential courses in documentary, animation and visual effects at the National School of Cinema and Television.
The Kent BFI Film Academy will run over 13 days between October 2021 and January 22 and is split between in-person and online instruction.
Most of the sessions take place in Folkestone with a couple in Maidstone. It costs £ 25, but scholarships are available.
The deadline for submitting applications is Monday, October 11. For more information on the Kent BFI Film Academy, click here.
