Aakanksha Enterprises can win the contract to bioremediate 7.67 lakh metric ton of remaining waste at Dadu Majra landfill. The company made the lowest bid of Rs 79.68 crore.

Even if the amount is 17% more than the estimated cost of the tender, the Municipal Corporation will raise the issue with the High Powered Committee and hopefully can set the rates with the company, sources said. .

The MC opened the financial offers tonight. Bids from two other firms, Zigma Global Environ Solutions Private Limited and Bhumi Green Energy, were Rs 122.76 crore and Rs 126.08 crore respectively. These three firms, out of a total of six firms, had qualified 10 days ago in the technical offers.

The tender has an estimated cost of Rs 67.96 crore. While Aakanksha Enterprises quoted 17,250 percent more than the estimated projects, the bids from the other two companies were 80 to 85 percent above cost.

Previous attempts by the company to finalize an agency for the project had failed. The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is partially funding the project. The company will have 1,048 days to dispose of the remaining second part of the waste from the landfill.

Currently, the clearing of waste from the first part of the site is in progress. The work has still not been completed despite several deadlines.
