The recruitment drive is part of the company’s planning for 2022, when it expects travel restrictions that have been in place throughout the pandemic to be eased.

DFDS typically carries around three million passengers a year on its routes between Dover and France, as well as over one million freight vehicles.

Founded in 1866, DFDS’ 8,000 employees are spread across ferries and offices in 20 countries.

Although it has continued to operate services since the first Covid lockdown, carrying essential goods including food and medicine to the UK, passenger numbers have been limited due to travel bans and restrictions. quarantine requirements.

Now that most Britons are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and travel restrictions are becoming less punitive, DFDS is already taking bookings from travelers keen to get away for holidays next year.
