RESULTS OF THE ELECTIONS OF 3 AUGUST 2021: CITY OF JOPLIN PARCS AND RENEWAL OF THE STORMWATER SALES TAX PASS: 1 948 YES against 503 NO. This tax will finance rainwater projects in the ten-year plan as well as park projects over the next decade. Including the following story regarding the Outer Dover Rec. Bicycle park.

JOPLIN, Mo. – There is a part of the citizens who think that they are not served by Joplin Parks. Cycling enthusiasts are that group that has reached the top of Joplin’s 10-year parks plan as being underserved. The Joplin Park Parks and Stormwater Tax Renewal Budget is to create the Outer Dover Rec. Bicycle park.

Cole Beckham is the founder of Ozark ATV a great social media group who are continually sharing ideas and also meet in Joplin to travel together and ride bikes in Northwest Arkansas and even at the Cycle path in height in Neosho. He says they have to travel because Joplin has nothing.

Beckham, 29, married to a baby boy, recently spoke about what he thinks Joplin is missing. “We have a lot of reasons to stay here, with family and in business, but I have always wanted to raise my child somewhere where I can take them to a small bicycle playground and teach them to ride a mountain track. pumping or something, even Neosho has this stuff now and we don’t.

He feels why Northwest Arkansas has invested so much money in this active cycling lifestyle and the arts to inspire young and talented people to have a reason to move to NWARK. Otherwise, he says they would have moved to Colorado or other places where there are fun family activities to do where you can stay active.

Beckham says: “we want to do that here. ”

Over half of the people I meet at NWARK are from Springfield, Kansas City, or Tulsa and they travel there because it’s the closest place to mountain biking. Yes [Joplin] is building something legit like the trail system we’re talking about, the asphalt pumping track, or the kids’ area, and that’s awesome? They will keep coming back. “
