Proposed by Duncan Hopkin
Channel Rotary Club is delighted to welcome Geoffrey Milsted as a member. As a Chartered Accountant, Geoffrey brings skills that will come in handy in the club’s charitable work in the Folkestone community and beyond.
Originally from Maidstone, he now lives in Folkestone with his wife Rosemary and is an active member of the Sene Valley Golf Club.
Geoffrey was previously a member of the Folkestone Round Table and then the Folkestone Rotary Club, which awarded him a Paul Harris Fellowship for service to the community.
Over the past year, Channel Rotary has raised and donated over £ 31,000 to over 30 local charities.
Their next big fundraiser is the Channel Bike Challenge around Romney Marsh on Sunday July 4th.
The 30, 50 or 70 mile circular flat routes begin and end at The Star Inn in St Mary-in-the-Marsh, Kent.
As this is possibly the flattest cycling challenge in the UK, this is the perfect ride for a personal best or to enjoy the marsh countryside at a leisurely pace.
The goal is to enjoy the day and have fun raising funds for South Kent MIND and other local charities.
