Four people face charges after police seized illegal drugs, cash and stolen items from a property near Port Dover on Friday.

Members of several police units searched a property at Concession 5, Woodhouse. All four defendants were taken into custody without incident and charged.

The Ontario Provincial Police of Norfolk County, the Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit, members of the Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Services have participated in the research.

“Our Community Street Crime Unit has been very effective in proactively investigating illicit drugs. This is yet another example of how police and the community continue to work in partnership to solve crime,” Norfolk OPP Inspector Jodi Kays said in a news release.

A 27-year-old Norfolk woman has been charged with drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.

A 39-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged with drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, possession of a firearm or ammunition in violation of a restraining order and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.

A 42-year-old man from Niagara Falls, Ont., and a 54-year-old Norfolk resident are both facing charges of drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

The defendants are due to appear in court later to answer the charges.

The investigation is ongoing and police anticipate further arrests, the statement said. Anyone with information relating to the case is asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
