Over the past few months, Pete Davidson has been dumped by Kim Kardashian and quitting his job as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. Don’t feel bad for the 28-year-old comedian, though: he seems to have landed on his feet professionally. He’s got a new rom-com coming out — starring Kaley Cuoco as his love interest, no less — and now we know when we can see it. According to a Deadline report, Meet cute will premiere on the Peacock streaming service on Wednesday, September 21. The film marks the first big test for Pete Davidson, to see if he can go from his success to SNL. Some official stills from the film have also been released on social media, although an official trailer has yet to be released.

In the film, Kaley Cuoco plays Sheila, who seems to meet the love of her life in Gary, played by Pete Davidson. Although their connection is instantaneous, it is not completely authentic. It turns out that Sheila has a time machine and is traveling back in time to meet Gary, trying to work through his personal issues, heal his emotional trauma, and make him the perfect boyfriend. This forces him to travel further back in time on each trip, 24 hours at a time, in hopes of going back far enough to finally fix it.

The film is directed by Alex Lehmann, who also directed the Netflix comedy-drama paddleton, with Ray Romano and Mark Duplass. “I am thrilled that audiences are swept up in this wild, romantic ride exclusively on Peacock,” he said in a press release. He also praised his work with Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson, which led him to joke about maybe wanting to have his own time machine and having an impossible choice to make. TO DO. “Do I jump to our release date, or do I go back and relive the joy of making this movie? Luckily for me, it’s a decision I can’t make.

The film is produced by Weed Road Pictures and written by Noga Pnueli. The scenario for Meet cute was actually named to the 2018 “Blacklist,” which lists the best unproduced screenplays written that year (according to studio executives), that a studio has yet to film. Having that kind of buzz around him was probably why Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson signed on for the comedy. A screenplay named on the list is a near-guarantee of the film’s completion: other 2018 “blacklist” screenplays included King Richard and Promising young woman, both of which won Oscars. Earlier this year, Cuoco spoke about working with Davidson with in addition.

Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson are the executive producers of Meet cute. Cuoco is coming off another successful season of The stewardess for HBO Max, which she recently admitted she could still get another season after saying she was done with the show. She will then be seen in the detective series Based on a true story. Davidson had previously wowed moviegoers with performances in The Suicide Squad and The King of Staten Island. He has two new movies, Wizards! and The Housecurrently in production.
