Kimberly A. Jones
Vestal – Kimberly Jones took her last breath on December 28, 2021. She passed away peacefully in her comfortable cabin in Gillette, PA at the age of 57 with her beloved person, Mark Cottom. Kim was beautiful, smart and funny. She was quick with a smile and history and preferred to focus on the good parts of life. She absolutely adored her 12 grandchildren spoiling everyone from the day they were born. A cheerful host for all occasions, she liked to receive her family and friends from her kitchen around the fireplace. She was also blazing in the house, cheering on Villanova’s basketball and the Yankees, all the while taking out fresh cookies from the oven. She could read a book a day and sing like a bird. Traveling was his passion; Ireland, New York City and Europe were just a few. Our lives are lived through stories and could Kim tell a story … changing it depending on who she was telling it to;) Kimberly was a fighter who didn’t go easy on that good night. Calm was just not his style. The family would like to thank the entire ENT team from Kim to Geisinger, in particular Dr Phillip Pellitteri, Dr Nicholas Purdy and Dr Thomas Gergel who took great care of her, as well as all the nursing staff including Brian and the two Matts, who she considered her best friends for life.
Kim is survived by her son Joel Bush (Carly Hull), daughter Allison Orland (Josh) daughter Annie Jennings (Wes) son Brett Jones (Kanesha Smith), parents Jack and Lois Tubaugh and siblings Kristen Esler (Matthew) David L Short (Eileen) Mary Kay Murphy (Patrick) Lori Tubaugh-Ellefsen (Karl), Martha Tubaugh and the rest of her great loving family. Kim was predeceased by Father David Short, Brother Terry Tubaugh and her husband David Brown.
Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2 Main St, Johnson City NY 13790. Call hours will be 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday January 3 with a funeral service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family would love for you to donate on Kim’s behalf to the Geisinger Health Foundation at secure2.convio.net.
