A man has been found dead following a flat fire in Folkestone.

The Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at an apartment on Castle Hill Avenue just before 1 a.m. on April 28.

A high vehicle and three fire trucks rushed to the scene, but despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man was pronounced dead on arrival.

Kent Police were also called to the scene and emergency services spent more than two hours at the scene.

A spokesperson for the Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “Three fire engines and a high vehicle were present and unfortunately a man was found dead at the scene upon his arrival.

“Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguish the fire using a hose reel and water from a fire hydrant.

“Kent police were also present and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.”
