Andy Hessenthaler and his team are back in action at home for the second time this week on Saturday when Southend United travel from Essex.

The Blues are currently 18th in the National League table, 31 points ahead of Dover after their 1-1 draw at Aldershot Town on Tuesday while the Whites recorded their first win of the season, beating Eastleigh 1-0 at Crabble.

Rhys Murphy scored twice before Sam Dalby made it 3-0.

Ryan Hanson pulled one back for the Whites before Jack Bridge added a fourth.

BEST STRIKER

Rhys Murphy leads with eight National League goals this season while Sam Dalby has six to his name.

US AND THEM

Southend United’s goalkeeper is former Dover Athletic keeper Steve Arnold.

Arnold (pictured below in action for the Whites against Wrexham) joined The Shrimpers after leaving Northampton Town last summer.

6ft 5in Arnold made 30 appearances for Dover in the 2016/17 season after leaving Forest Green Rovers.

He also had spells in the Football League with Wycombe, Stevenage and Shrewsbury before joining Northampton.

DOVER TEAM NEWS

Teenagers Noah Carney and Alex Green both joined the injured list after playing for Bromley Academy on Wednesday.

Carney, who was unavailable for the Southend game due to his commitments with England Under-18 Schoolboys, fractured a toe while centre-back Green suffered an ankle injury.

The pair join player/coach Reda Johnson (calf), James Caton (groin), Travis Gregory (knee), TJ Bramble (back) and Danny Collinge (hip/groin) in the gym.
