The Morsia fitness app, which has skyrocketed the App Store charts, is the latest successful venture from a Kent YouTuber.

Matt Morsia, 35, who lives in Hythe, previously told KentOnline how he transformed his life by quitting his teaching job to become the UK’s number one fitness vlogger.

The bodybuilder’s YouTube channel, MattDoesFitness, has grown steadily over the past two years, with subscribers doubling to 2.1 million.

But it was the launch of the Morsia app – which offers personalized training programs and diets – that took the former Folkestone Academy physical education teacher to new heights.

It now has around 10,000 subscribers, each paying around £ 98 per year.

So despite the fact that the father of two made almost £ 300,000 on his own from YouTube in 2020, it’s not hard to see why the Morsia app has become his biggest source of income.

The app was launched by Matt, his wife Sarah, 35, and brother Ben, 24, in 2020.

Since then, it has been downloaded by more than 130,000 people, recently seeing it reach third place in the App Store rankings for fitness apps.

Matt says these are “exciting times” and that the app’s growing popularity is both “crazy” and “awesome”.

In the past 12 months he’s also published a book, opened three Morsia gymnasiums – in student residences in Loughborough, Guildford and Nottingham – and welcomed the arrival of little boy Mauro.

So, is he tempted to sit down, get up and take a break from the relentless pressure to create content for his MattDoesFitness channel?

“I still love making videos,” Matt said.

“I loved doing it even when I wasn’t making any money at all – so there’s no way I’m going to give up.

“Also, at the moment, the growth of the app is still dependent on my promotion in my YouTube videos.

“But the ultimate goal is for the app to be its own organically growing entity and not dependent on my promotion.”

Matt says the app is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to experienced weightlifters.

“Whether you want to lose fat, build muscle, get stronger, fitter or faster and even work out at home without equipment, whatever your goals, we’ve got you covered,” a- he declared.

For those who want to give it a try, there is a seven-day free trial.
