Earl “Joe” Proctor, 98, of Dover, died Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. He was born on April 7, 1923, in Broomfield, to John McFadden and Nettie Mae Brown Proctor.
He enjoyed hunting, knight fishing, raising cattle and tending to his land. He loved to watch baseball and was a lumberjack.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marine Goates Proctor; one son, Bobby Proctor; and six siblings, Raymond Proctor, Mildred Myers, Hazel Summers, Lou Chaffin, Jack Proctor and Charles Proctor.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Carlous Duncan of Russellville, Sherry Moore of Dover, Debbie and Tony Geater of Dover, and Teresa and Chuck Stroud of Jerusalem; one daughter-in-law, Carol Proctor of Dover; sister-in-law, Louise Proctor of Dover; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff and Tammy Duncan of Dover, Carla and Mike Barkley of Dover, Joshua Duncan of Little Rock, Greg and Donna Proctor of Dover, Dale and Christy Proctor of Hector, Dana and Ron Ellis of Dover, Terry Geater from Dover, Candice and Kevin Waldon from Harrison and Daniel and Brandi Dorris from Pottsville; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service is at 10 a.m. today at Goates Cemetery near Scottsville with Reverend David Downum officiating. Service under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
