The A2 between Brenley Corner and Canterbury will be closed for road works for seven consecutive weekends starting this month.
The causeway will be closed in the easterly and westerly direction on various dates in September and October, significantly disrupting travel routes.
Highways England will carry out concrete repairs between Boughton and Dunkirk, including crack repairs and resurfacing.

It will be closed separately between M2 Junction 7 at Brenley Corner and the A28 Canterbury and A2050 Canterbury for seven weekends, with two additional weekends for the unexpected.

Closing dates eastbound
⦁ 8 p.m. on September 3 to 6 a.m. on September 6
⦁ 6 a.m. from October 2 to 6 a.m. from October 4
Westbound closing dates
⦁ 8 p.m. on September 10 to 6 a.m. on September 13
⦁ 8 p.m. on September 17 to 6 a.m. on September 20
⦁ 8 p.m. on September 24 to 6 a.m. on September 27
For those traveling eastbound to Dover, Highways England has suggested leaving the M2 at junction 7 where the diverted traffic will follow the A299 to join the A2 at Guston.
And those traveling westbound to London are advised to exit the A2 at Guston, where diverted traffic will follow the A256 to join the A2 at junction 7 of the M2.
For local access to Canterbury, drivers are asked to use the A28.
There are two other westbound closing dates, which will begin at 10 p.m. on Friday evening, October 8 and 22.
The closure and detour point for these dates will be off the A2 via the Canterbury A2050 signed junction, where traffic will follow the A2050 to join the detour onto the A28.
From 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, the closing and detour point will be moved to the Canterbury / Ashford A28 signage ramp. The A28 Canterbury / Ashford non-slip will be closed from 8 p.m. due to third-party work.
The emergency dates are 8:00 p.m. November 5 to 6:00 a.m. November 8 eastbound and 8:00 p.m. November 19 to 6:00 a.m. November 22 westbound.
