She says while the pandemic may have caused problems last year, they believe they can weather the storm thanks to what was learned in 2020.

“I think in some ways it will be easier to run the lotteries because we know how to pivot really quickly,” she says. “We were prepared last year for any eventuality, but this year we have experience in it, so I think we are in a better position to deal with these pandemic punches.”

Nordin says, despite so many people in the struggling region over the past 18 months, organizers are overwhelmed by the generosity of the community when it comes to helping the nonprofits that need it most. .

“It never ceases to amaze me how they come together and come together. It really warms my heart to see this every time we go out, and the community comes forward and we are so grateful. “
