A Somersworth man was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman in Dover. Donald Levier, 35, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with burglary and attempted aggravated sexual assault. Police said a tip from a News 9 viewer led officers to his location and subsequent arrest. Officials said around 1 a.m. Monday that they were called to an apartment building in Dover on New York Street. A woman said she was asleep when a stranger broke into her apartment, got into bed with her and attempted to sexually assault her. The woman told police the man left after screaming. Dover Police coordinated with other services to determine the man was suspected of being Levier. Then, early Tuesday afternoon, they got a call from someone who thought they had seen him in the woods behind the Dover Public Library. “At first, they couldn’t find him. So they set up a perimeter, checked the neighborhood, the neighborhood yards and it was quickly located hidden in the brush in one of the neighborhood yards, ”said the Dover Police Cpt. Police said advice from a News 9 viewer led officers to his location and arrest.

Officials said around 1 a.m. Monday that they were called to an apartment building in Dover on New York Street. A woman said she was asleep when a stranger broke into her apartment, got into bed with her and attempted to sexually assault her.

The woman told police the man left after screaming.
