DOWNERS GROVE, Illinois., July 13, 2021 / PRNewswire / – SCANNING, part of Dover (NYSE: DOV), a leading supplier of compact brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHE), recently broke new ground, this time at the KoÅ¡ice plant in Slovakia. This third phase of SWEP’s latest expansion project will add an additional 3,000 square meters to rapidly growing space for production and R&D capabilities.
During the summer of 2020, new production equipment was installed in the newly expanded areas of the Landskrona plant in Sweden, and all production lines have been optimized. In addition to the new production area, 500 square meters of new offices were also built.
At April 27, 2021, approximately 16 months after the start of the first phase of EMEA expansion in Landskrona, SWEP began its expansion in Košice, led by the Managing Director Robert dzurilla, Quality Manager Jana Sallaiova and responsible for engineering Stanislav Kodus.
âThis expansion is a real investment for the future,â says Ulrika Nordquist, president of SWEP. âThe Kosice plant has been a success from the start, and we continue to grow here. It is important for us to produce close to our markets, and Kosice is well situated for that. Since our first production lines in the 1980s, we have organically developed and adapted our sites to market needs on several occasions. It has been a successful strategy here in the EMEA region as we continue to grow with our clients.
Despite the increase in production, we have been able to reduce the net amount of CO2e in our facilities by 12% since we started measuring in 2018. The safety of our employees is also crucial, which is one of the reasons automate processes as much as possible. possible.”
This new facility will provide SWEP with an additional 3,000 square meters of production space. SWEP adds press and oven capacity. The Košice extension is expected to be fully operational by early summer 2022.
âWe all understand that renewable energy sources and more efficient use of energy are absolute imperatives. SWEP’s heat exchanger technology plays a vital role in converting old unsustainable sources and inefficient technologies. By expanding our production in EMEA region through additional capacity equipment, such as press lines, ovens and automation, we will significantly increase our capabilities to serve the market. And with an optimized operational flow, we become more flexible to demands and less vulnerable to unforeseen events. We are here to grow with our customers â, mentioned Fredrik paulson, Managing Director of SWEP EMEA.
