A beachfront hotel is being outfitted ahead of its role in Danny Boyle’s upcoming TV series.
The Oscar winner has so far shot in Dover and Deal, but has now set his sights on the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone.
The series – titled Pistol – will air on Hulu and was filmed across Kent.
Lucky spectators in Dover got a glimpse of the director of Trainspotting, which had closed three routes in the process.
Crowds flocked to Marine Parade, Wellesley Road and Camden Crescent to get a feel for the atmosphere of the movie set.
Meanwhile, the streets of Deal have been given a facelift to conform to the decor of the 1970s.
The city was inundated with vintage vehicles, while the signs were changed.
Today’s move to the hotel will spark new excitement in the county – which is expected to feature much of the series – for the series starring characters like Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones.
Earlier in the year, a casting was launched for residents of the county who might be interested in being an extra for the series.
The role of the Grand Burstin in the series could change his fortunes, as the company that owns it has been selected as the worst hotel chain for eight years in a row.
